With another year's edition having come and gone, the 2012 BET Awards were held in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday night (July 1).
Taking place at the Shrine Auditorium, the big winners of the night were Kanye West and Jay-Z with triumphs in the Best Group and Video of the Year categories for "The Throne" while Beyoncé nabbed trophies for Best Female R&B Artist and Video Director of the Year.

Hosted by "Pulp Fiction" actor Samuel L. Jackson, the annual BET event also featured performances by top acts such as Usher, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, G.O.O.D. Music and Tyga.
Including a special tribute to the late, great Whitney Houston, the remembrance was led off by surprise guest Mariah Carey with Whitney's mom, Cissy Houston, Monica, Gary Houston, Brandy and Chaka Khan also paying their respects through song.
Other noteworthy moments included Rev. Al Sharpton being presented with the Humanitarian Award and Maze featuring Frankie Beverly doted with Life Achievement Award honors.
With the night seeing Miss Minaj crowned as Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, Big Sean as Best New Artist and Breezy garnering himself a pair of prizes, the complete list of 2012 BET Awards winners is as follows:
