Chris Brown and R. Kelly were announced as the first two performers
for the BET Awards ’13, but Stephen G. Hill also announced that other
big names were going to be performing at the Staples Center during the
BET Experience at L.A. Live. Most notably, Beyonce’ will be performing
the first night of the BET Experience, for her first U.S. arena show in 3
years. Snoop Dogg, R. Kelly, Miguel, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, ScHoolboy
Q, R. Kelly, New Edition, Erykah Badu and many more artists will also
be performing throughout the weekend.
Drake garnered the most nominations this year, with an impressive 12
nominations, including Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Video of the Year,
while Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz tied with 8 nominations. Also, the
category for the Video of the Year Award has expanded to 10 nominees;
including Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna,
2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Miguel and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
